Dear Respondent, We thank you in advance for choosing to take part in this study. This study is being conducted by researchers from the University of South Australia to understand trust in Australia's aged care system. What is this research about? Recently, the Royal Commission into Aged Care reported that there is an urgent need to rebuild trust in Australia's aged care sector. At the University of South Australia, we are conducting a study to conside the current challenges and opportunities for building trust in Australia's home aged care system. With your help, we want to better understand older people's opinions about trust in the aged care sector and we seek your input as the recipient of services through the Commonwealth Home Support Program or a Home Care Package.
What do we want you to do? Participation in this study involves completing a survey that should take no more than 20 minutes of your time.
We will ask questions about the following: What services that a person you are caring for are receiving
Your perceptions, beliefs, and attitudes and experiences in the aged care system, and
Some demographic information about yourself
Most questions only require you to tick a box. If you wish to say more about the aged care system there is an option for you to do so at the end of the survey. Your participation is voluntary. You are free to stop your participation at any point and withdraw from the survey at any time. Once you have submitted your survey, however, you will not be able to withdraw from the study as your answers will have been made anonymous and we will not be able to identify which answers are yours.
Confidentiality
Note that this survey is for academic research purposes only and does not form part of any promotional activity. Your responses will be completely anonymous. No identifying details will be disclosed to any third party and your anonymity will be protected. All information collected as part of this study will be stored permanently in a secured computer server at UniSA Business in accordance with the UniSA "Ownership and Data Retention Policy" and the "Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research" where only UniSA researchers with appropriate ethics clearance can access the data.
